About the Great Lakes Regional Games

Great Lakes Regionals is one of the country's main regional qualifying events for the National Junior Disability Championships (to be held in July 2012 in Mesa AZ). Athletes from Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Iowa, and western Michigan typically take part in the Games. The events are judged according to the highest standards, using Olympic timing and strict enforcement of the rules.

However, the Games are also open to anyone with a disability who wishes to take part in the fun of competitive adaptive sports.

Injured military and veterans make up an important part of the Adult National Championships, through the generous support of US Paralympics, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and Disabled Sport USA. The Adult National Championships give an opportunity for those who have given so much to excel in the world of sport on a national level. But the events are also available to anyone, veterans or not, who wish to enjoy the satisfaction of competing against others on the court, in the pool, or on the track.
