GLASA’S KERI SCHINDLER SELECTED AS TEAM USA'S OPERATIONS MANAGER FOR 2010 WINTER PARALYMPICS GAMES IN VANCOUVER

U.S. Paralympics, a division of the U.S. Olympic Committee, has selected Keri Schindler, 29, Program Director at GLASA, to be Team USA’s Operations Manager during the 2010 Paralympics Games March 12-21 in Vancouver, Canada.
Keri’s responsibilities as Operations Manager will be to oversee logistics for all activity outside the village including assisting VIPs, athlete families and media. Keri is one of two Operations Managers out of Vancouver City with Team USA staff. This is not the first time she has been selected to help with the games. In 2002 Schindler interned at the Winter Paralympics Games in Salt Lake City, Utah. In 2006 Keri was selected as a coach for the Paralympic Academy during at the Winter Paralympics Games in Turin, Italy.
When notified of her selection, Keri stated: “I am delighted to be a part of Team USA and look forward to representing my country, myself and GLASA as best as I can in Vancouver. Not only will I gain valuable experience about handling logistics at the international level, but it’s also a great opportunity to network and meet others from around the world that are doing what we do at GLASA on a regular basis. The Paralympics are the top level of competition for athletes with a disability. I hope to bring back new motivation and inspiration that I can then share with our athletes and hopefully inspire some of them to set their goals on this top level of competition."
In her role as Program Director at GLASA, Keri oversees programs in swimming, tennis, cycling and is the key liaison with injured military recreation and sports programs. Keri has worked with athletes with physical and visual disabilities for 15 years. She earned a B.S in. Kinesiology and an M.S. in Adaptive Physical Education at Indiana University.
