OBJECTIVE
Great Lakes Games and Adaptive Track and Field USA Open are multi-sport competitions for athletes who have a physical disability or visual impairment, including many of our injured military veterans. These games will provide four days of competition and five days of virtual educational clinics. The Great Lakes Games is a qualifier for the Move United Junior Nationals (for some a first step to the U.S. Paralympics). These games are unique in that they serve the beginner, first time sport enthusiast to the Paralympic hopeful athlete; following the GLASA motto “Let No One Sit on the Sidelines”.
This event is one of the largest competitions in the country for athletes who have a physical or visual impairment and includes swimming, track, field, archery, power lifting, and air rifles.
MARKETING PLAN
Great Lakes Games will be marketed for awareness, competition, and attendance. Our target audience includes the adaptive sports communities nationwide. The regional portion of the games include athletes from the states of Wisconsin, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, and Missouri. This being a Paralympic year, attendees will span a national presence. GLASA utilizes several different avenues to advertise including national and regional adaptive sports agencies, local and national periodical resources, GLASA’s social media: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and promotion of these games by our sanctioned organizations.
