Volunteers

VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED TO HELP WITH:

  • Awards
  • Classification
  • Clinics
  • Competitions
  • Concessions
  • Logistics*
  • Registration
  • Track and Field Open Practices

No experience necessary, just a willingness to learn! All training will take place on-site.

The Great Lakes Games would not be possible without the hundreds of volunteers needed to support this amazing event. The volunteer experience will be as memorable as the experience of the athletes and coaches!  All volunteers receive training on-site and a phenomenal Games t-shirt! Volunteers will be recruited to fill a variety of needs including logistics*, registration, specific sport events, awards and more.

Whether you volunteer with your co-workers, family members or are looking to meet new friends, the games are a great team building event for all involved. Each year our athletes and Games committee members welcome back our past volunteers and look forward to meeting those new to the games.

Volunteers can choose to sign up for one shift or spend the entire weekend supporting both first time athletes and elite competitors!

*LOGISTICS VOLUNTEERS
Logistics volunteers must be 16 years or older and be willing to do manual labor.  They will be responsible for event set up and tear down.  If they are lucky, they also get to spend time riding in a golf cart!

VOLUNTEER LEADERSHIP POSITIONS

Volunteers are also needed to help fill various leadership positions throughout the event (i.e. volunteer check-in, assigning and overseeing volunteers to specific areas, etc.). This would include meeting prior to the Great Lakes Games and being present for an extended period of time during the event. These leadership positions look good on resumes and job applications for anyone looking to go into teaching, coaching or jobs within the medical field.

Please don’t hesitate to contact Emily Higgins if you have questions or need further information. Help us out by telling your friends, family and co-workers about this volunteer opportunity.
